Alert for Taxpayers...New Financial Changes Set to Come into Effect

From next month 1, 2026, several key financial changes will come into effect across the country. These changes will impact income tax taxpayers, Aadhaar card holders, credit card users, passport applicants, and bank customers. The last date for filing income tax returns for the Assessment Year 2026-27 has been fixed as next month 31, 2026.

From next month 1 to December 31, the Aadhaar mobile app will offer free email address updates. The earlier fee of ₹75 has been waived. The fee for a 36 page ordinary passport has been increased from ₹1,500 to ₹2,500, while the Tatkal passport fee has been raised from ₹3,500 to ₹5,000. New Reserve Bank of India rules to curb the mis selling of financial products by banks will also come into effect from next month 1.
