Financial details of the artificial intelligence data center being developed by AdaniConneX in Visakhapatnam, as part of Google’s AI project, have been revealed for the first time. Adani Group CFO Jugeshinder Singh shared that the construction cost per megawatt is estimated at ₹70 to ₹75 crore. The company aims for a 12 percent return on investment in dollar terms. AdaniConneX, a joint venture between Adani Group and global data center operator EdgeConneX, is undertaking the project.
As part of the 1 gigawatt AI data center plan, the first phase includes the construction of 400 megawatts, with an estimated investment of nearly ₹30,000 crore. The project, announced in October 2025, will be developed across three locations in collaboration with Nxtra Data, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel. Company representatives stated that this initiative could position Visakhapatnam as a global technology hub and showcase India’s growing strength in artificial intelligence infrastructure.
