Satellite images have detected a massive 1,500-kilometre-long monsoon trough stretching across India, from the northern Bay of Bengal to Jammu and Kashmir. Meteorologists say the southward movement of monsoon winds is likely to bring widespread thunderstorms and heavy rainfall across North India.
The region had been experiencing intense heat and delayed monsoon onset for several weeks, causing discomfort to residents. With the formation of this extensive monsoon system, weather conditions are expected to change significantly, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
