India pacer Akash Deep got married to Akshita Raj in a traditional ceremony held at a five star hotel in Varanasi on Wednesday night. The wedding took place with the consent of both families in the presence of relatives and close friends. Akash shared pictures and videos from the ceremony on social media, which quickly attracted the attention of cricket fans.
During the wedding celebrations, a guest asked Akash why he had not invited Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, and Rohit Sharma. Responding humorously, Akash said, “Would the wedding even happen if they came?” His reply drew laughter from the guests. The cricketer hinted that the presence of such legendary players would have attracted huge crowds and made it difficult to conduct the ceremony smoothly.
Akash Deep has played 10 Test matches for India and taken 28 wickets. His best bowling figures in an innings are 6/60, while his best match figures stand at 10/112. He played a crucial role in India’s victory in the Birmingham Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy by claiming 12 wickets. Due to an injury, he missed IPL 2026 for KKR and also lost his place in the Indian Test squad. He is currently recovering and hopes to return to action soon.
