The Andhra Pradesh High Court has declined to order a CBI investigation into the Mega DSC recruitment process. The court was hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by YSRCP MLC Parvatha Reddy, seeking a central agency probe into the recruitment. During the hearing, the bench questioned why candidates who were allegedly affected under the sports quota had not approached the court directly if they had genuine grievances.
The High Court observed that it could not accept the petitioner's argument that the affected candidates were afraid to approach the judiciary. It further noted that permitting PILs driven by political interests would dilute the very purpose of public interest litigation. With these observations, the court refused to entertain the plea seeking a CBI inquiry into the Mega DSC recruitment.
