An AIMIM councillor, Mateen Patel, has been arrested by Nashik Police for allegedly sheltering Nida Khan, an accused in the sexual harassment and alleged forced religious conversion case linked to a Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) associated BPO unit. Police acted after a court issued a warrant against Patel for failing to appear before it.
The case dates back to March 2026, when allegations of sexual harassment, workplace misconduct, and attempted forced religious conversion surfaced at the BPO unit in Nashik. Nida Khan was granted bail in July on humanitarian grounds as she was pregnant. Meanwhile, several other accused have also been granted bail after the filing of the charge sheet. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is currently investigating multiple cases related to the incident, while TCS has suspended employees facing allegations.
