

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, approved 12 key agenda items during a meeting that lasted nearly three hours. Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy said the Cabinet passed a special resolution appreciating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years of public service. The government has allocated ₹10,208 crore for the Thalliki Vandanam scheme, benefiting 68.05 lakh students, while also increasing diet charges for hostels and Gurukul institutions by 10%. The Cabinet also approved the Higher Education Policy-2026 aimed at attracting foreign and private universities, an IIT-JEE and NEET coaching centre of excellence for tribal students in Visakhapatnam’s Marikavalasa, and the expansion of the Repalle hospital.
The Cabinet further approved several welfare and development measures, including gratuity of up to ₹1.50 lakh for ASHA workers who die while on duty, allotment of seven acres for a Gurukul in Kandukur and 7.66 acres for temple development. A Cabinet sub-committee was also formed to address issues related to house sites for the poor. The Cabinet approved ₹20.62 crore for the APHIMS horticulture information and management project. Following the meeting, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu reviewed issues concerning capital lands with Minister P. Narayana and directed officials to examine legal aspects related to Category-4 and Endowment lands before bringing the matter back to his attention.
