Audit Team Says There Was No Scam in Ayodhya Donations

Audit Team Says There Was No Scam in Ayodhya Donations

An audit has reportedly provided key clarity on allegations surrounding ₹3,300 crore linked to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir project. According to reports citing government sources, the expenditure is accounted for, with around ₹1,800 crore reportedly spent on construction and ₹400 crore on land acquisition. However, these details should be viewed in the context of the latest reports and available audit-related information.

The controversy appears to be separate from alleged irregularities in the manual handling and counting of cash donations. Investigators have previously flagged security lapses and violations of procedures in the donation-counting process, while reports have put the alleged cash theft at around ₹2–3 crore. Therefore, claims that the entire ₹3,300 crore was diverted should not be conflated with the separate allegations concerning cash-handling irregularities.
