Bansuri Swaraj Defends Centre’s NEET Response

BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj has defended the Central Government's response to the NEET controversy, stating that prompt action was initiated immediately after allegations of irregularities in the examination surfaced. Speaking to reporters, she said the Ministry of Education registered an FIR on the same day and transferred the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). According to her, the CBI constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT), arrested 13 accused, and requested the court to conduct day-to-day hearings to ensure speedy justice.

Swaraj said the government's priority is to protect the interests of students and ensure a fair, transparent, and impartial investigation into the allegations. Her remarks come amid continued protests by student organisations and criticism from opposition parties, which have demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and questioned the Centre's handling of the NEET controversy and the police action against student protesters.
