The Telangana government has taken a key decision to move towards a paperless cabinet system. Starting with the recent meeting chaired by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, all cabinet meetings will now be conducted under the “Digital Cabinet” model as part of paperless governance.
As part of the initiative, IT Minister Sridhar Babu distributed iPads to the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, and all ministers. Agenda notes and cabinet materials will now be shared through an e-book system instead of paper files, improving speed, transparency, and efficiency in decision-making.
Officials stated that the digital system will help track decisions in real time and ensure better follow-up. Agenda items will be prepared by the General Administration Department and shared digitally via SMS and email. The system is already in use in several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra.
