CBI Says Accused Used ‘FIFA World Cup 2026’ WhatsApp Group to Avoid Suspicion

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has reportedly uncovered another key detail in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case. According to the agency’s chargesheet submitted to a Delhi court, the accused allegedly created a WhatsApp group named “FIFA World Cup 2026” to avoid attracting suspicion. The group was reportedly created in November last year and had eight members. The details came to light during the interrogation of accused subject experts P.V. Kulkarni and Manisha Mandhare. The CBI has included these findings in its chargesheet running into thousands of pages.

According to the CBI, Pune-based Manisha Mandhare created the WhatsApp group, while Pune-based beautician Manisha Waghmare allegedly acted as its coordinator. The group was reportedly used to organise online and offline Biology, Chemistry and Botany classes with subject experts. The CBI further alleged that another accused, identified as a Physics expert, was brought into the group by Waghmare. Investigators said a total of 66 handwritten questions were allegedly leaked to students, while a dental clinic belonging to Waghmare’s husband in Pune was allegedly used to sort and organise the leaked questions subject-wise. The allegations form part of the ongoing investigation into the alleged examination conspiracy.
