Telangana Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari had approved the LB Nagar–Hayathnagar double-decker elevated corridor project on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada National Highway. On Tuesday, Komatireddy and state Minister Jupally Krishna Rao met Gadkari in New Delhi to discuss road infrastructure projects in Telangana. They urged the Centre to take up the corridor at the earliest to ease growing traffic congestion. They also sought the preparation of a fresh Detailed Project Report (DPR) for an elevated corridor on National Highway 765, connecting Hyderabad and Srisailam.
The ministers requested the release of funds from the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) for 34 road projects in Telangana. They also invited Gadkari to attend the Indian Roads Congress meeting scheduled to be held in Hyderabad from November 19 to 22. According to Komatireddy, Gadkari agreed to attend the foundation-stone laying ceremony for an iconic cable bridge planned across the Krishna River at Somasila in Nagarkurnool district. MP Mallu Ravi and state government whip Beerla Ailayya also participated in the meeting.
