Discussions between Union Ministers and Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on the Hyderabad Metro Rail project have yielded significant progress. During meetings held in New Delhi, both sides agreed to appoint a consultant to evaluate Metro Phase-I, assess financing requirements, identify lending institutions, and examine the cost and funding needs for the proposed Phase-II expansion.
SBICAPS has been selected as the consultant for the project. The organization will conduct a comprehensive study covering Metro Phase-I valuation, takeover proposals, Phase-II expansion plans, and related financial aspects. Based on its report, the Centre and State governments will determine the future course of action. Dedicated coordination officers from both governments will oversee the process to ensure speedy implementation.
