Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reviewed arrangements for the Sharannavaratri celebrations at Indrakeeladri, Vijayawada Utsav 2.0 and the National Saras Mela with ministers and officials. He stressed the need for coordinated efforts by the Endowments Department, Tourism Department and district administration to ensure successful celebrations and make the Saras Mela a model for the country. He also praised Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for advancing the Adivi Thalli Bata initiative, which aims to improve road connectivity in tribal areas and reduce the hardships faced by residents. Naidu said the first phase had been completed successfully and work had been initiated on 1,976 kilometres of roads.
Naidu also announced the government’s decision to distribute housing pattas to eligible residents of the Jafar Saheb Canal area who live on government land. He said the initiative aims to provide poor families with security, dignity and permanent assets. Pattas have already been distributed in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Mangalagiri, while another 4,000 beneficiaries in Nellore are expected to receive them during Sankranti. The Chief Minister cited an allocation of ₹30,000 crore for household tap connections and ₹1.8 lakh crore for infrastructure in towns and villages. He said officials had been directed to resolve land-related issues permanently and called for ethical, transparent leadership, adding that local body elections would pave the way for a “triple-engine government” in the state.
