Chinese billionaire Guo Wengui sentenced to 30 years in prison

A United States court has sentenced Chinese billionaire Guo Wengui to 30 years in prison. Guo, who claimed to be fighting for democracy in China, had gained support from millions of Chinese people across the globe through his campaigns and online presence.

According to the court, Guo ran a massive online movement under the pretext of exposing corruption within the Chinese Communist Party. However, he allegedly collected nearly $1 billion from his followers through fraudulent investment and cryptocurrency schemes. Investigations revealed that he used the funds to purchase luxury assets in the United States, including a lavish mansion, a million-dollar Lamborghini, and a yacht worth $37 million.
