

Megastar Chiranjeevi praised Indian flydubai Captain Smit Machchhar for his courage and presence of mind during the recent mid-air crisis. Machchhar was seriously injured after being allegedly attacked by his co-pilot on a Dubai-Tel Aviv flight, but managed to open the cockpit door, allowing passengers and crew to intervene and helping avert a potential disaster. During a conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Machchhar said he kept reciting the Hanuman Chalisa during the crisis, a detail that deeply moved Chiranjeevi.
Chiranjeevi wished Machchhar a speedy and complete recovery, saying his determination to protect the lives of others despite being injured was commendable. Several film personalities have also praised the captain’s courage. Salman Khan expressed hope that he would get an opportunity to travel on a flight piloted by Machchhar in the future, while Vijay Deverakonda and R. Madhavan also lauded his bravery and presence of mind.
