CI Transferred Over Misconduct Allegations During Arrest

A Circle Inspector from Vizianagaram district has been transferred following allegations of inappropriate behavior during an arrest operation. The officer, Srinivas, who was serving as the Bobbili Rural CI, has been shifted to the Arilova Police Station in Visakhapatnam as per official orders. The action comes after serious complaints were raised regarding his conduct while handling a case involving a journalist.

According to reports, Srinivas had arrested Telangana journalist KVR in Hyderabad four days ago and brought him to Bobbili. Following the incident, KVR’s wife filed a complaint at Saroornagar Police Station in Hyderabad, leading to a case being registered against the CI. In connection with the same case, authorities had earlier taken action against a Badangi Sub-Inspector, who was sent to VR for failing to arrest KVR.
