Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has accused the BJP government of detaining thousands of young people across the country ahead of the organisation’s planned protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on October 10. In a social media post, Dipke alleged that the detentions were intended to intimidate protesters and prevent them from participating in the demonstration.
Dipke said the alleged actions would not silence the youth and announced that he would travel to Delhi and march to Jantar Mantar on October 10 despite any challenges. The CJP has been protesting against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. However, the claim that thousands of young people have been detained nationwide has not been independently verified. The organisation has maintained that it will continue its protest.
