CM Chandrababu Inspects Water Levels at Prakasam Barrage

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu inspected the water levels at Prakasam Barrage, observing the inflow of Godavari waters reaching the Krishna river through the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Project. While returning after attending World Tribal Day celebrations in Vijayawada, the Chief Minister briefly halted his convoy on the barrage to review the situation. He expressed satisfaction over the scenic and full appearance of the barrage due to the Godavari inflows.

Officials informed that about 17.52 TMC of water has been diverted to the Krishna delta through Pattiseema this season. Due to upstream inflows, around 521 TMC of Godavari water has already flowed into the sea. Authorities are releasing water to delta canals to support agriculture, including 3,928 cusecs to the eastern canal, 3,115 cusecs to the western canal, and 115 cusecs to the Guntur channel, totaling 7,158 cusecs. The Chief Minister stated that efficient water management is helping farmers overcome challenges caused by El Nino conditions.
