Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed strong displeasure with officials over frequent power disruptions in several parts of the state. He questioned why the situation had not improved despite repeated instructions to ensure an uninterrupted power supply. Warning of a possible power shortage in the coming days, he asked why electricity generation was not being increased. He also sought an explanation for why the Yadadri power plant was not operating at full capacity despite coal supply arrangements from Naini and Mahanadi.
The Chief Minister said he was accountable to the public and criticised officials for ignoring repeated instructions to ensure adequate power supply to protect crops. He warned that negligence affecting the public would not be tolerated and threatened to suspend even the Special Chief Secretary and the Chairman and Managing Director of GENCO if the situation did not improve. He directed officials to immediately explain the reasons behind the power disruptions.
