CM Vijay Announces Cash Reward for Asian Games Gold Winners

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay presented a cash reward of Rs 75 lakh each to Washington Sundar and G Kamalini, key members of the Indian men’s and women’s cricket teams that won gold medals at the Asian Games. Vijay had announced the cash incentive soon after the Indian men’s and women’s teams clinched gold, and the rewards were presented within days of the players returning to their home state.

In the women’s cricket final, India defeated Sri Lanka by 147 runs to claim the gold medal. In the men’s event, Team India defeated arch-rivals Pakistan to secure the gold. Both Indian teams had entered the Asian Games as defending champions and successfully retained their gold medals in their respective categories.
