CPM Shock Over Vijay Dairy Price Hike!

The CPM Vijayawada city committee staged a protest outside Vijay Dairy at Lenin Centre against the Krishna Milk Union’s decision to increase milk prices by ₹2 per litre from August 10. CPM leaders said another price hike within four months would place an additional burden on ordinary consumers. Women, children and party workers participated in the protest, displaying milk packets and raising slogans against the increase.

CPM state secretariat member C.H. Baburao and other party leaders demanded that the government stop interfering in Vijay Dairy and the Krishna Milk Union. They alleged that the interests of farmers and consumers were being compromised to benefit private dairy companies. The leaders called for the immediate withdrawal of the price hike and urged the authorities to protect the cooperative dairy system and its farmers. They warned that the agitation would continue until milk prices were reduced.
