Customs officials at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, Hyderabad, seized a huge quantity of smuggled gold from two passengers who arrived from Kuala Lumpur. The passengers allegedly concealed the gold in paste form inside specially designed pouches hidden around the waist area of their trousers.
During the inspection, officials recovered 2.271 kilograms of 24-carat gold valued at approximately ₹3.36 crore. The accused have been taken into custody, and a case has been registered. Customs authorities have launched a detailed investigation into the gold smuggling attempt.
