Earthquake Tremors Felt in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand

An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 struck Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district at around 1:21 a.m. on Monday, with tremors felt across several areas, including Uttarkashi, Barkot, Purola, Mori, Chinyalisaur and Dunda. The epicentre was reported near Rajgarhi in Barkot tehsil, at a depth of about 10 kilometres.

The tremors prompted residents in some areas to move out of buildings as a precaution. Authorities remained alert and monitored the situation. Initial reports indicated no major loss of life or property from the earthquake.
