Elephant Attack Triggers Panic in Kuppam

A farmer was tragically killed in an elephant attack near Kuppam in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor district, triggering panic among local residents. The incident occurred near Chinnamattarlapalli in Tamil Nadu's Krishnagiri district. A dairy cow was also killed in the attack, adding to the loss suffered by the affected family.

According to reports, the elephant herd attacked the farmer while Tamil Nadu Forest Department officials were attempting to drive the animals towards the Kuppam forest region. An RTC driver, Viswanath, said the herd had wandered nearly 40 kilometres and reached the Kuppam bus stand, leaving residents alarmed. Forest officials have intensified monitoring to prevent further incidents.
