Elephant Herd Puts Ramakuppam on Alert

A herd of 19 elephants has triggered high alert in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor district, with several elephants roaming across Ramakuppam mandal. Of them, a group of 16 elephants entered from neighboring Tamil Nadu and is currently moving through the Peddur forest area. Meanwhile, a pair of elephants has been spotted near Gollapalli, while a lone elephant is roaming in the surrounding villages.

Forest officials have warned that the elephant herd may move towards Peddur, Arimani Penta, Jeedimakulapalli, Naniyala, and Ramapuram Thanda during the night. Farmers and residents have been advised not to venture into agricultural fields after dark and to remain vigilant until the elephants move away from the region.
