Former MLA and YSRCP leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi has written to the Chief Election Commissioner, raising concerns over alleged irregularities in the SIR 2026 process. Vamsi said that four representations had already been submitted regarding objections, but the list of discrepancies related to 32,524 voters had not been provided so far. He also alleged that re-verification had not been conducted for polling booths 24 to 70 in Vijayawada Rural mandal.
Vamsi further pointed out that polling stations 58, 59 and 53 in the Prasadam Padu area had a high number of “no mapping” cases, but no explanation had been provided. He also claimed that multiple voter registrations had been identified and verified through photographic evidence, yet appropriate action had not been taken. Vamsi urged the authorities to take immediate action over the alleged irregularities and provide a written response before the SIR 2026 process concludes on August 30.
