The absence of former Union Minister and former Amethi MP Smriti Irani’s name from the recently released panchayat voter list in Uttar Pradesh has sparked discussion. The issue has drawn attention as the name of a prominent political leader was reportedly missing from the electoral rolls, raising questions about the voter list revision process.
Amethi District Magistrate Sanjay Chauhan stated that an inquiry has been ordered into the matter. He said the exact reason behind the omission would be known only after the investigation report is submitted. Following the incident, authorities have advised voters to regularly verify their names in the electoral rolls to avoid any inconvenience during elections.
