Gig Workers' Union Demands Action Over Delivery Worker Assault

The Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union (TGPWU) has strongly condemned the alleged assault on a delivery worker, reportedly involving actor Akhil Raj of the recently released film Raju Weds Rambai. According to the union, the delivery worker was allegedly assaulted over a wrong order delivery. It also expressed concern over allegations that the actor's mother insulted the worker during the incident.

TGPWU stated that delivery workers serve society under challenging conditions and should be treated with dignity and respect. The union demanded a thorough investigation, legal action against those responsible, justice for the victim, a public apology from the accused, and stronger measures to ensure the safety and dignity of gig and delivery workers. TGPWU founder president Sheikh Salauddin said an attack on one gig worker is an attack on the entire workforce.
