Goddess Kanaka Durga, enshrined atop Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada, is blessing devotees in the form of Sri Lalitha Tripura Sundari Devi on the fifth day of the Dasara Sharannavaratri celebrations. The special adornment marks the fifth day of the lunar fortnight, Ashwayuja Shuddha Panchami. Revered as the presiding deity of the Sri Chakra and the deity associated with the Panchadashakshari Maha Mantra, the Goddess is worshipped by devotees seeking her blessings. She is adorned in red and blue sarees, holding sugarcane, a bow, a noose and a goad, with Goddess Lakshmi on her right and Goddess Saraswati on her left.
Special rituals are being performed at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam as part of the Navaratri festivities. On this occasion, the Goddess is offered ten varieties of sacred food under the traditional Rajabhogam offering, including payasam rice, chakrannam, poornalu and ginger vadas. Devotees are visiting Indrakeeladri to seek the blessings of the Goddess in her Sri Lalitha Tripura Sundari form, which holds special spiritual significance during the Dasara celebrations.
