Government Shifts Pension System to Direct Bank Transfers..

The state government has taken a key decision regarding pension disbursement. From now on, all pension amounts will be directly credited to beneficiaries’ bank accounts instead of being distributed in cash. The move aims to curb irregularities in welfare schemes.

Around 42 lakh beneficiaries in Telangana, including elderly citizens, widows, differently-abled individuals, and workers from various sectors, currently receive pensions. While some still receive cash payments, the government has now decided to fully shift to a digital transfer system.
