Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla attended the 24-hour countdown event for the International Day of Yoga held at Secunderabad Parade Grounds under the leadership of Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy. The programme witnessed the participation of several public representatives, yoga practitioners, officials, celebrities, and hundreds of people.
The Governor described yoga as a holistic way of life that helps achieve harmony between the body, mind, and soul. He said that in today's fast-paced world, yoga provides inner peace, discipline, and positive energy while helping people cope with stress and lead healthier lives.
He also recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi played a key role in securing global recognition for International Yoga Day through the United Nations in 2014. The Governor noted that yoga has become a symbol of India's ancient wisdom and now serves as a guide for health and well-being across the world.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla urged people to make yoga a daily habit rather than limiting it to a single-day celebration. He said that a physically and mentally healthy population is essential for building a prosperous and self-reliant India and encouraged everyone to embrace yoga for better health, balance, and inner strength.
