Heavy Rain and Lightning Threat Looms Over AP

The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority has issued weather alerts for several districts, warning of lightning, strong winds, and rainfall over the next three hours. Red alerts have been issued for Parvathipuram Manyam, Vizianagaram, and Alluri Sitharama Raju districts, where moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning is likely at isolated locations. Residents have been advised to remain indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.

An Orange Alert has been issued for Srikakulam district, where moderate rainfall with lightning is expected. Meanwhile, Yellow Alerts have been announced for Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, and Kakinada districts due to the possibility of light rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds. Disaster Management Authority Managing Director Prakhar Jain urged the public to stay vigilant and avoid taking shelter under trees or remaining in open areas during lightning activity.
