The Telangana High Court expressed strong displeasure against HYDRA Commissioner Ranganath during the hearing of a case concerning demolitions in the Vani Cooperative Housing Society layout in Medchal. The court observed that interfering at will in matters within its jurisdiction had become a practice for the commissioner and directed the registry to issue a contempt notice to him. The collector was also asked to submit a report detailing the number of court orders and the number of demolitions carried out by HYDRA.
The High Court directed HYDRA to file a counter regarding the demolitions. The court observed that HYDRA’s actions were forcing other officials to appear before the court and provide explanations, resulting in valuable judicial time being wasted. The court adjourned the matter to September 9 for further hearing.
