Huge Response to Indiramma Indlu Towers

The Telangana government’s ‘Indiramma Indlu Towers’ housing initiative in Hyderabad has received an overwhelming response, with 35,125 applications submitted for 7,340 homes being constructed across 16 Assembly constituencies. The scheme aims to provide affordable housing to economically weaker sections in developed areas. As part of the pilot project, construction is being taken up at the rate of 500 homes per constituency, while the government has set an overall target of one lakh houses. Housing Board Vice Chairman V.P. Gautam said applications will be accepted until August 10.

The flats are being constructed on valuable land and will be offered at a highly subsidised price of Rs 6 lakh, compared with an estimated open-market value of Rs 30 lakh to Rs 58 lakh. Beneficiaries will also receive registration for the allotted homes. Officials clarified that applicants who are not selected will receive a refund of the Rs 10,000 deposit amount they paid. With only two days remaining for applications, eligible applicants have been urged to make use of the opportunity.
