

Hyderabad has earned national recognition for its rich culinary heritage by winning the prestigious ‘National Culinary Destination’ award at the India Today Tourism Awards. The announcement was made during the India Today Tourism Conclave held in Goa, highlighting Hyderabad’s status as one of India’s most celebrated food destinations.
Telangana Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao received the award from Union Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the recognition reflects Hyderabad’s globally acclaimed food culture, including Hyderabadi Biryani, Irani Chai, and traditional Telangana cuisine, which continue to attract tourists from across India and around the world. The event was attended by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, tourism ministers, policymakers, and industry experts from across the country.
