Hyderabad's First IT Tower Bids Farewell

Hyderabad’s first IT tower, built in Begumpet in 1987, is set to disappear from the city’s landscape. The building housed Intergraph Consulting, the first American multinational company to establish operations in Hyderabad. The structure played a key role in the early growth of the city’s information technology sector and is considered an important landmark in Hyderabad’s IT history.

According to police officials, the building owners decided to demolish the structure after the underground water sump was severely damaged, raising safety concerns. The demolition marks the end of an iconic chapter in Hyderabad’s technological journey, as the city prepares to bid farewell to one of its earliest IT landmarks.
