HYDRA has stepped back from the disputed 13-acre land issue in Kukatpally following directions from the Telangana High Court. The agency had recently taken possession of the land, claiming it was government property despite the matter being under judicial consideration. Landowners challenged the action in the High Court, alleging that HYDRA had illegally occupied their land.
Hearing the petition, the High Court directed authorities to restore possession of the land to the petitioners within 24 hours. Following the court's order, the landowners regained control of the property. During the hearing, HYDRA informed the court that it would no longer interfere with the disputed land. In a separate matter, residents of Patelguda in Aminpur Mandal, Sangareddy district, approached the High Court against the proposed demolition of 28 houses on the grounds that the land was classified as government property. The court questioned how demolitions could proceed without proper notices despite existing orders and sought a detailed counter-affidavit, adjourning the case to June 15.
