HYDRA has launched a major lake restoration initiative worth ₹107 crore for the development of four lakes in Hyderabad. The project covers Ibrahim Pedda Cheruvu, Bhagirathamma Cheruvu, Kamuni Cheruvu, and Kapra Cheruvu. HYDRA Commissioner Ranganath performed the groundbreaking ceremony and officially inaugurated the development works aimed at flood prevention and groundwater recharge.
Spread across 311 acres, the four lakes will be transformed with modern infrastructure and recreational facilities. Plans include walking tracks, open gyms, children's play areas, and tourism-friendly amenities. Authorities are also exploring the introduction of boating facilities in larger lakes through the Tourism Department, turning these water bodies into attractive urban tourism hubs.
