Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh has made key remarks on the proposed sale of America’s advanced fifth-generation F-35 fighter jets to India. Speaking at the closing ceremony of ‘Tarang Shakti-2026’ in Jodhpur, he said Indian officials were not even allowed near the US F-35 aircraft, even as Washington discussed the possibility of selling them to India. He clarified that the United States had not made any formal offer for the aircraft. Notably, a senior US Pacific Air Forces commander, General Kevin, was standing beside him when he made the remarks.
Singh also said Russia was ready to offer India its fifth-generation stealth fighter, the Sukhoi Su-57. However, he clarified that India had not yet taken a decision on whether to purchase the aircraft. The ‘Tarang Shakti-2026’ air exercise in Jodhpur featured the Indian Air Force and air forces from seven other countries. The event provided a platform for showcasing aerial capabilities and strengthening cooperation among participating air forces.
