Illegal gambling activities are reportedly thriving in several parts of Chittoor district despite the presence of police surveillance. Organizers are allegedly assuring gamblers that their vehicles, money, and belongings will remain safe even if raids are conducted, encouraging participants from neighboring districts and states to join the games. According to reports, large sums of money are changing hands daily, with gambling operations being conducted in the outskirts of Chittoor city and surrounding mandals, including Gangadhara Nellore, Bangarupalem, Yadamari, and Thavanampalle.
The organizers are said to have adopted elaborate arrangements, including separate parking locations and cashless gaming systems to avoid suspicion. Some gamblers reportedly obtain short-term finance from local operators and financiers to continue participating. Despite allegations that authorities are aware of these activities, enforcement action has reportedly been limited. Police officials, however, maintain that no confirmed information regarding daily gambling operations has been received and have stated that strict action will be taken if complaints or credible evidence emerge.
