India has granted the green signal to its first dengue vaccine. The subject expert committee of the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has approved the vaccine, marking a significant step forward in dengue prevention in the country.
The vaccine, developed by Japan-based Takeda Pharmaceutical Company, is known as Qdenga (TAK-003). It is recommended for individuals aged between 4 and 60 years and is administered in two doses with a three-month interval, according to officials.
