Actress Isha Koppikar has spoken about the online backlash she faced after condemning alleged abusive remarks targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother during protests related to the NEET paper leak. Describing herself as a nationalist, Koppikar termed the alleged remarks “anti-national” and said such behaviour could negatively impact democracy. Her comments reportedly attracted criticism online, with some people choosing to unfollow her.
In a recent interview, Koppikar said she would not change her views simply to retain social media followers. She also questioned celebrities who avoid expressing opinions on political issues because they fear losing followers. Defending her stance, she said, “I won’t do that. This is who I am. Yes, I am an Andhbhakt.” At the same time, she clarified that she respects people with different opinions and beliefs.
