Student protests have escalated in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, over allegations of irregularities and paper leaks in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) Preliminary Examination. The protesters are demanding the cancellation of the recruitment examination, a CBI probe into the alleged malpractice, and comprehensive reforms in the state's recruitment process. Student leader Devendranath Mahato has begun an indefinite hunger strike to intensify the movement.
The protesters claim that despite submitting evidence related to the alleged paper leak to the Chief Minister, the government and the JPSC have failed to take meaningful action. They also alleged that the government acted only after OMR sheets linked to recruitment examinations surfaced online. The CJP has extended its support to the students, assuring them of continued backing until their demands are addressed.
