Union Minister Kishan Reddy has written an open letter to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressing concern over alleged irregularities in Singareni Collieries. He referred to media reports claiming that around 40 lakh tonnes of coal worth nearly Rs 1,600 crore has gone missing from Singareni, and demanded a comprehensive investigation into the issue.
He further stated that strict security measures should be implemented and the internal safeguards and control systems of the organization must be reviewed. Kishan Reddy also highlighted that the Telangana government owes over Rs 51,500 crore to Singareni, creating financial pressure on the institution. He stressed the need to strengthen transparency, efficiency, and credibility while protecting the welfare of over 40,000 workers and their families.
