Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) has alleged that the Musi River rejuvenation project being implemented by the Congress government is resulting in large-scale displacement and destruction of homes belonging to poor and middle-class families in Hyderabad. Speaking at a party workers’ meeting in Rajendranagar constituency, he strongly criticised the government’s approach and claimed that thousands of families are being affected under the name of development.
KTR further stated that several prominent individuals, including Tushar Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, had also opposed the demolition of houses for the project. However, despite these objections, he alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is continuing the project with an intent of financial gains and commissions. He also accused both Congress and BJP of indirect coordination on the issue and questioned why the Centre was not intervening to protect the interests of affected families.
