The investigation into the high-profile Lohagad Fort murder case in Pune has taken another significant turn. According to police sources, accused Siya Goyal told investigators that she had informed Ketan Agarwal well before their engagement that she did not wish to marry him. However, Ketan allegedly refused to call off the engagement. Police claim Siya stated that Ketan told her his influential family would not allow the marriage to be cancelled, even if she attempted to leave. Investigators are currently verifying these claims with other available evidence.
Meanwhile, the investigation has revealed conflicting statements from Siya Goyal and co-accused Chetan Chaudhary, with each blaming the other for masterminding the murder. According to police, Chetan claimed he only intended to elope with Siya and that she had encouraged the murder. In contrast, Siya alleged that the murder plan originated with Chetan and that he broke down emotionally after an earlier attempt on June 14 failed. Police continue to examine all evidence to establish the sequence of events and determine the primary conspirator.
