Hyderabad Black Hawks has announced a long-term roadmap to promote volleyball across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with a focus on grassroots development and creating professional opportunities for young players. As the first step, the franchise conducted Prime Volleyball League (PVL) Open Trials and Under-21 selection trials at VR Siddhartha University in Vijayawada. Andhra Pradesh Sports and Transport Minister M. Ramprasad Reddy attended the event and assured full government support for volleyball development across the state.
Black Hawks principal owner Abhishek Reddy Kankanala said the initiative includes annual talent hunts, support for district and rural tournaments, international-level coaching programmes, and professional pathways for promising players. The organisation also plans to adopt two government schools in every district of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to promote volleyball among students from Classes 6 to 8. The announcement comes shortly after the FIVB officially recognised the Prime Volleyball League as India's first professional division volleyball league.
