Major Theft Reported at Basara Temple

A theft incident has been reported at the Basara Saraswathi Temple in Nirmal district. Unknown persons broke into the Mahankali shrine located on the upper floor of the temple complex and stole a silver crown and the hundi. The intruders damaged the temple gate, looted cash, and later abandoned the hundi near Vyasa Gudi before fleeing.

The incident came to light when priests arrived for morning rituals on Tuesday. Temple authorities immediately informed the police. Officials have registered a case and launched an investigation based on CCTV footage from the temple premises.
