A massive explosion rocked the export terminal at Ras Laffan Industrial City in Qatar on Sunday midnight, leaving at least 54 people seriously injured, while 18 others remain missing. Emergency services rushed to the site as authorities launched rescue and investigation operations. The incident has raised serious concerns over safety at one of the region’s most crucial energy facilities.
Notably, crude oil from Ras Laffan is a key supply source for India. The terminal had already suffered damage during the recent US-Iran Conflict. The explosion comes at a critical time when operations were gradually returning to normal after the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. This incident is considered a major setback for Qatar’s energy sector and global supply chains.
